With children present, Health and Safety is paramount in education environments and the regular checking of the electrical appliances in a school or college should be a fundamental part of their safety policy.

Portable Appliance Testing

According to the Institute of Electrical Engineers Code of Practice, testing in schools should be carried out on an annual basis. This testing ensures all equipment is thoroughly checked and left in a safe to use condition.

  • Schools that dont carry out the required electrical Health and Safety test could influence their insurance cover and in extreme cases, invalidate it.
  • Fire Regulations 1st October 2006: As part of this fire risk assessment, you have to show that all your portable appliances have passed a portable appliance test.
  • We assist a number of local schools with their Health and Safety requirements therefore obtaining a vast knowledge of these environments.
  • All our engineers are CRB checked to ensure peace of mind for your school.
  • Having carried out work in establishments with Special Educational Needs, we understand the requirement of sensitivity in these premises and can carry out the testing during the holidays to adapt to your environment.

Fixed Wiring Testing

Fixed wiring testing should be carried out on a 5 yearly basis (unless otherwise listed on your previous report)

  • We are NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contractors) approved which means us and our procedures are vetted on a yearly basis, therefore ensuring you of the best service in this area.
  • As this testing requires power shut down on certain areas, we can carry testing out in the holidays, weekends or after hours at no extra charge.
  • We include a full schematic drawing of your electrical installation included in the price of the testing.

To provide a quotation, we will carry out a survey of your present electrical installation free of charge. We will then provide a fixed price quotation based on the survey.
